We love our South Coast sunshine town (Bognor Regis is officially the sunniest town in the UK). But, if you’re new to the area, or coming here for a holiday, then you might be wondering what all the fuss is about!
Bognor Regis is packed full of things for people of all ages and events to get involved in. And if you’re on the hunt for something to do, well, look no further, because here is an A-Z of some of the most fun things about Bognor Regis!
Adventure Golf at Wildforest Falls
An exciting 18 hole adventure golf course based in Hotham Park. Open all year round from dawn until dusk, it is based in the green parkland area with a lovely focus on nature. Check out the beaver dam, tree stump vortex and life-size props, including bears and wolves which come complete with information boards to enable learning.
Beaches and Beach Huts
Two of the iconic things that our stunning seaside resort is most renowned for!
The beaches of Bognor Regis stretch from the delightful swathes of sand on Elmer Beach in the east, to the swimming, yachting and windsurfing facilities at Pagham Beach in the west – all of them well worth a family day out.
And – if you fancy a lovely hotel with a difference that’s right by the sea in Bognor Regis – check out the Beachcroft Hotel. It comes highly recommended and they even have beach huts that you can sleep in (we aren’t even joking).
Over a century old and steeped in history – this iconic building plays host all the latest films at a fraction of the price you might expect from a trip to a larger modern day cinema. It’s been recently refurbished too, so, on a rare rainy day, the Bognor Regis Picturedrome Cinema is a perfect place to take the family.
The House of Dance at the Regis Centre is a local arts driven initiative dedicated to supporting and encouraging the development of innovative and exciting dance. It also provides performance opportunities for young people to enable them to experience the workings of a professional theatre.
TimeCraft is a real-life escape game where teams of up to nine players have to race against time to solve the mystery and escape from a locked room – a perfect way to entertain groups of friends and family members from around 9 years old and upwards.
Our area is a renowned London Clay location, which makes it really good for fossil hunting, especially for certain types of insects, plant remains, brachiopods and bivalves – and some of the shells you can find are huge!
Grandad’s Front Room
This is a beautiful award winning community initiative designed to help those in need in our community and inspire others, by offering a safe and caring space where people can come to spend time or get help with food, furniture and more.
The beautiful Bognor Regis Hotham Park which was established by the founder of Bognor Regis, Sir Richard Hotham. It offers beautiful green spaces to explore, amazing wildlife, cafe, boating lake, a play park, mini golf area and even it’s own mini railway. It’s easy to see why local families regularly bring children here for a day out. Watch out for some of the brilliant events which go on here too.
You can get delicious ice cream at Pinks vintage ice cream parlour in the town centre – a super cool throwback to the American diners of the 50s and 60s which serves artisan gelato – simply an ice cream lovers’ heaven!
Pinks is so popular with the locals, that they regularly take their kids there for a special treat. Pinks also do vintage ice cream van and ice cream tricycle for hire at weddings, parties, and corporate events.

Junior Park Run
Keep the kids fit with a 2K run at Arena Sports Centre every Sunday morning! Exercise is massively popular in our area, so why not encourage it from a young age.
The adult Park Run is a 5K run that takes place in Hotham Park every Saturday morning. Why not take in the stunning scenery of one of our most gorgeous areas of natural beauty, while you keep fit and have bags of fun at the same time.
A massive favourite in the area, this fantastic spectacular draws the crowds day and night as the stalls, entertainment for all ages and of course the magnificent kites on display are unmissable. This year (2020), the Bognor Regis Kite Festival takes place on the King George V playing fields in Felpham, from August 29th-31st.
Delicious seafront cafe just a little further along from Butlins as you head along the coastline towards Felpham. Open all year round, it’s well worth a visit if you’re taking a stroll along our stunning coastline and fancy a spot of refreshment.
Marine Park Gardens
Situated in Aldwick opposite the beach in Marine Drive West. It was opened in 1936 by major benefactor of the town William Fletcher, and remains a great place to relax and take in nature.
A whole host of new bars and restaurants have opened up in Bognor Regis recently, making it a great night out if you’re looking to let your hair down. Check out the likes of TAO, The William Hardwicke and the Worst Kept Secret on the Bognor Regis High Street for a good night out and a few cocktails here and there.
The Bognor Regis Observer is the local newspaper of the town and features all of the local news and events which are going on. So, when you’re down this way, why not pick up a copy and get a flavour of what local life is all about?
This RSPB local nature reserve is a stunning and peaceful place to spot a wide variety of your favourite birds and go for a lovely long walk with the family. There are places to sit and rest when you need to, where you can just take in all of the wonderful beauty around you.
Queen For A Day
Fancy a pampering worthy of royalty? Check out the stunning spa facilities and highly acclaimed fine dining at the historic Bailiffscourt Hotel and Spa. Book in for an overnight stay, spa day, or treatment. Whatever takes your fancy, this tranquil high-end hotel is set on 30 acres of parkland, with direct access to Climping Beach.
The Regis Centre and Alexandra Theatre offer a fantastic schedule of events for theatre goers and music lovers alike. The huge variety of shows, classes and workshops that take place throughout the year mean there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
Splash – at Butlins Bognor Regis
This is the recently opened amazing new water park at Butlins Bognor Regis. From the Helter Skelter and Stick of Rock water slides, to the wave pool and Seaside Garden rapids there’s absolutely bags of stuff to entertain all ages. And, there’s a tots pool and lido for quieter swimming, too.

The Bognor Regis campus of Chichester University is situated close to the sea and boasts the £35m Tech Park which was opened by their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It is home to the Engineering and Design and Creative Digital Technologies Departments. In addition, there is some beautiful Georgian architecture among the modern teaching facilities.
Did you know that when you visit Bognor Regis you’re on the doorstep of one of the most beautiful wine regions of England? At the Tinwood Estate Vineyard, which is on the edge of the South Downs National Park, you can meet the winegrowers, take a visit into the vineyard and have a full tasting experience overlooking the vines.
Well we had to put in here somewhere that Bognor Regis is officially the sunniest town in the whole of the UK, didn’t we! Blessed with good weather for the majority of the time, it’s easy to see why people choose to visit us for a little break away in the sun.
The Christmas events which take place at Bognor Regis are in short, spectacular. From the ice rink to the illuminations – and of course the presence of Santa himself, it makes the town well worth a visit in the colder months, as well as the warmer ones! West Sussex is renowned for its youth football and a big player is the Bognor Regis Town Youth Football Club. The cup winning team comes in addition to the ESF junior football tournaments which draw football teams from all over the UK to Butlins Bognor Regis each year.
