An A-Z of things we love about Bognor Regis

We love our South Coast sunshine town (Bognor Regis is officially the sunniest town in the UK). But, if you’re new to the area, or coming here for a holiday, then you might be wondering what all the fuss is about!

Bognor Regis is packed full of things for people of all ages and events to get involved in. And if you’re on the hunt for something to do, well, look no further, because here is an A-Z of some of the most fun things about Bognor Regis!

Adventure Golf at Wildforest Falls

An exciting 18 hole adventure golf course based in Hotham Park. Open all year round from dawn until dusk, it is based in the green parkland area with a lovely focus on nature. Check out the beaver dam, tree stump vortex and life-size props, including bears and wolves which come complete with information boards to enable learning.

Beaches and Beach Huts

Two of the iconic things that our stunning seaside resort is most renowned for!

The beaches of Bognor Regis stretch from the delightful swathes of sand on Elmer Beach in the east, to the swimming, yachting and windsurfing facilities at Pagham Beach in the west – all of them well worth a family day out.

And – if you fancy a lovely hotel with a difference that’s right by the sea in Bognor Regis – check out the Beachcroft Hotel. It comes highly recommended and they even have beach huts that you can sleep in (we aren’t even joking).

Cinema (Picturedrome)

Over a century old and steeped in history – this iconic building plays host all the latest films at a fraction of the price you might expect from a trip to a larger modern day cinema. It’s been recently refurbished too, so, on a rare rainy day, the Bognor Regis Picturedrome Cinema is a perfect place to take the family.

Dance House

The House of Dance at the Regis Centre is a local arts driven initiative dedicated to supporting and encouraging the development of innovative and exciting dance.  It also provides performance opportunities for young people to enable them to experience the workings of a professional theatre.

Escape Rooms

TimeCraft is a real-life escape game where teams of up to nine players have to race against time to solve the mystery and escape from a locked room – a perfect way to entertain groups of friends and family members from around 9 years old and upwards.

Our area is a renowned London Clay location, which makes it really good for fossil hunting, especially for certain types of insects, plant remains, brachiopods and bivalves – and some of the shells you can find are huge!

Grandad’s Front Room

This is a beautiful award winning community initiative designed to help those in need in our community and inspire others, by offering a safe and caring space where people can come to spend time or get help with food, furniture and more.

Hotham Park

The beautiful Bognor Regis Hotham Park which was established by the founder of Bognor Regis, Sir Richard Hotham. It offers beautiful green spaces to explore, amazing wildlife, cafe, boating lake, a play park, mini golf area and even it’s own mini railway. It’s easy to see why local families regularly bring children here for a day out. Watch out for some of the brilliant events which go on here too.

Ice Cream

You can get delicious ice cream at Pinks vintage ice cream parlour in the town centre – a super cool throwback to the American diners of the 50s and 60s which serves artisan gelato – simply an ice cream lovers’ heaven!

Pinks is so popular with the locals, that they regularly take their kids there for a special treat. Pinks also do vintage ice cream van and ice cream tricycle for hire at weddings, parties, and corporate events.

Not enough ice cream for you? Well, talking of Hotham Park, check out the amazing homemade ice cream at the Hotham Park Cafe – perfect for a summer’s day.

Junior Park Run

Keep the kids fit with a 2K run at Arena Sports Centre every Sunday morning! Exercise is massively popular in our area, so why not encourage it from a young age.

At the Tinwood Estate Vineyard, which is on the edge of the South Downs National Park, you can meet the winegrowers, take a visit into the vineyard and have a full tasting experience overlooking the vines.

Wonderful Weather

Well we had to put in here somewhere that Bognor Regis is officially the sunniest town in the whole of the UK, didn’t we! Blessed with good weather for the majority of the time, it’s easy to see why people choose to visit us for a little break away in the sun.

The Christmas events which take place at Bognor Regis are in short, spectacular. From the ice rink to the illuminations – and of course the presence of Santa himself, it makes the town well worth a visit in the colder months, as well as the warmer ones!
