Get fit in Bognor Regis

When the sun is shining, it’s a great chance to get outdoors for a healthy dose of exercise. And we’re proud to say that the sun shines an awful lot in Bognor Regis.

If you are visiting the town and want to keep up your exercise routine, then there is plenty that you can do. But one of our favorite things is to hit the beautiful beaches.

If you don’t normally live near the beach, then a run along the promenade is an amazing chance to enjoy the stunning scenery and breathe in the sea air. In fact, locals never get tired of looking at the views there are along the route. Then of course, if you get tired, there are plenty of cafes and stalls to help you take a break.

The beautiful Bognor Regis promenade is 2.7 miles long and stretches from Middleton-on-Sea, all the way past Bognor Regis to Aldwick and Pagham on the west side of the town. Whether your preferred method of fitness is a dog walk, jog or run, it’s definitely worth hitting the promenade.

Keeping with the theme of our lovely beaches, the waters are so welcoming, that it’s not uncommon to see people swimming in the sea all year round. In the summer in particular, the attractive shallows are like bath water and the sand beneath your feet makes for a lovely place to paddle.

When indoor fitness is more your thing, then there are some excellent gyms and top notch fitness classes to get involved in.

Take the 24 hour gym, Dream Fitness which is located in the town centre, offering fitness fans the chance to stay in shape, whatever time of day or night it suits. Here you’ll find a range of treadmills, assault bikes, rowers, spin bikes and tons of free weight equipment. That’s not to mention the fab fitness and training classes which include mixed ability Pole Fitness, yoga, spinning, HIIT and Boxercise.

Head a bit further out of town towards Felpham village and you’ll find the Arun Leisure Centre which has two swimming pools, offering lessons and classes for people of all ages. Located just a stone’s throw from Butlins Bognor Regis, it also has a fully equipped gym and a wide range of fitness classes to take part in from spinning, to yoga and pilates.

If you have the children with you, another popular attraction at the Arun Leisure Centre, in addition to the pool and water slide, is Oscar’s soft play – a safe and fully contained soft play area for the little ones to enjoy.

If you want something that the whole family can enjoy, then how about a spot of mini golf? Wildforest Falls adventure golf has recently opened at the stunning Hotham Park (which is also home to our Bognor Regis Park Run). The lovely 18 hole course, places a real focus on the enjoyment of nature.

And last but not least, remember the water park at Butlins Bognor, it’s a fab place to spend the day, allowing you to get in shape and have fun at the same time.
