Halloween events in Bognor Regis for all the family

Would you believe it, we’re into the final quarter of 2021 already and with it comes a whole host of Autumn/ Winter events to really get your (vampire) teeth into.

So, with Halloween just around the corner, what sort of things are there for adults and children to do in Bognor Regis, when you’re in the mood for a spot of something spooky?

Without a doubt, Bognor Regis is a town which really loves getting into the ‘spirit’ of things and, when it comes to Halloween, it’s no exception.

We’ve put together a guide to some of the coolest things that are going on in the town this year, that you can enjoy in addition to the marvellously decorated homes and businesses that there are to see.

Halloween Fun For The Young Ones

Some of the best bars in Bognor Regis aren’t only for the adults – check out the spooky kids Halloween party at TAO in the town centre on October 29th as just one example. They’re putting on a spooky disco, halloween crafts, games, pumpkin painting, mummy wrapping, apple bobbing… as well as some party bags and lots of treats. The cost is £5 per child, but in the true charitable spirit of our lovely town, those who are unable to afford a ticket are asked to get in touch.

The Station Pub, situated next door to Bognor Regis Train Station is holding a Halloween Family Fun Day on October 31st which kicks off from midday. Kids can enjoy pumpkin carving, spider hunting, apple bobbing, spooky films and plenty of fun and games.

The marvellous local charity Grandad’s Front Room is getting us in the mood for a scare too, with the chance to meet the Bognor Witch on Thursday October 28th between 5pm and 7pm.

She apparently first came to the town in 1856 and has been hiding away ever since, but has now decided to come out of hiding and help Grandad to scare small people during Halloween, tempting them with sweets if they dare to come close to the window. She is also planning to do random drives around the town to scream at people and scare the townsfolk!

Throughout October, children can also check out the ‘What Lurks Beneath’ Halloween trail at the WWT Arundel Wetland Centre where you can discover all kinds of creatures lurking there, from the feathered & furred, to the slimy & scaly.

Grown Up Ghoulishness

For the adults, the newly opened Cabana Verde on York Road is hosting their Spooky Cabana Halloween Party with Papa Groove on Saturday October 30th, where you can dress up and enjoy some spooky themed cocktails and more.

On the same night, if you take a wander over to Felpham village, there’s Halloween Karaoke at The George Inn or a Halloween Drag Queen Cabaret and Disco at The Thatched House to enjoy.

For those who like starting a bit early, The William Hardwicke in Bognor Regis town centre is getting people into the swing of things from midday with a Bottomless Brunch – Halloween edition, with slots available between 12pm and 1.30pm or 2pm and 3.30pm.

Something really scary… a little further afield

For one of the best Halloween experiences near Bognor Regis, Tulleys Farm is a must see. Situated around an hour’s drive away in the heart of the Sussex countryside, it’s well worth booking your tickets.

For the kids, there’s Tulleys Pick Your Own Pumpkins, but it’s at night when this venue really comes into its own with the Tulleys world-famous, award-winning Shocktoberfest.

Since 2008, it has repeatedly won the title of the UK’s No.1 Halloween Attraction and offers ‘a night filled with dazzling special effects, immersive scenery, live actors, great food and one hell of an atmosphere’. It really has to be seen to be believed – but a warning, it’s not for the faint hearted!
