What to do on a rainy day on Bognor Regis

We’re incredibly lucky with the weather down here on the South Coast of England. Bognor Regis is officially the sunniest part of the UK, West Sussex the sunniest county and nearby Chichester the sunniest city. So it’s easy to see why so many people head here for their holidays and a good dose of vitamin D. If the weather does happen to turn inclement, amazing beaches, parks and gardens and other outdoor attractions aside, there’s plenty to do indoors, too. Visit the Bognor Regis Picturedrome

Modern cinemas can sometimes feel rather overpriced and lacking in character, which is why the The Picturedrome Cinema  on Canada Grove excels in comparison. It has been extensively refurbished while still maintaining the historic charm of a Grade II listed building and has been here since 1886. The tickets, snacks and drinks are good value, making it a great option for the whole family.

Explore the Bognor Regis Museum

When the weather is dull outside, take a nostalgic trip back in time. Described on Trip Advisor by visitors as ‘a wonderful treasure trove, with fantastic local history, beautifully laid out, with charming and helpful volunteers’, it’s easy to see why visitors return time and again to the Bognor Regis Museum. And with so many things on display – from childhood games to wartime memorabilia – it’s easy to find something new and interesting each time you visit.

Take in a show

The Alexandra Theatre is part of the Regis Centre and the venue hosts a wide range of entertainment including dance, musicals, comedy, drama, music, panto and family events. The theatre features a comfortable 357-seat auditorium – the perfect place to seek shelter and enjoy a performance. Sea inside at Butlins, Bognor Regis

In 2019 the popular holiday company opened an incredible family pool at its Bognor Regis resort. Dubbed by Yahoo as ‘the most family-friendly swimming pool in Europe’, it was designed to bring the best of the British seaside inside, complete with seaside-inspired features like a Helter Skelter water slide, Seaside Garden rapids and Stick of Rock slides, as well as quieter areas like the lido and tots pool. The Butlins Bognor Regis resort, with all the rides, restaurants, shows and soft play, has plenty of other indoor activities for the whole family to get involved in and you don’t have to be staying here to access it.
