Best Things to Do in Bognor Regis This Half Term with the Kids

Finding things to do during half term can be one of the trickiest parts of the school calendar, and somehow it always seems to come around quicker each time. That’s where we come in.
We’re here to help make planning a little easier, with ideas for days out in and around Bognor Regis. Whether the sun is shining or the rain makes an appearance, whether you have one little one or the whole family in tow, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Jungle Mayhem – Bognor Regis Carnival

Kick things off on 23rd May with a feast for the senses. Expect delicious street food, children’s entertainment, live music and more before half term officially begins.

The vibrant Jungle Mayhem themed parade starts at 1.15pm on The Esplanade, making its way through town before finishing at West Park in Aldwick. It is set to be a brilliant day out for all ages.

Soft play adventures

We all know the British weather can be unpredictable, so it is always handy to have a few indoor options up your sleeve.

Right in the heart of Bognor Regis, Little Learners offers a welcoming space for children aged six and under. Previously known as Little Piggies, it is a great spot for little ones to play safely while parents enjoy a warm drink and a bite to eat.

If you fancy venturing slightly further afield, there are some fantastic options nearby:

  • Little Leapfrogs and Oscar’s Soft Play at Arun Leisure Centre, offering something for both younger and slightly older children
  • The Flying Fortress in Ford, a family-run playframe shaped like an aeroplane, complete with toddler areas and racing slides

A beach day out

Sometimes the simplest days out are the ones that stay with you the longest.

Head down to Bognor Regis Mini Golf on the seafront in Waterloo Square, followed by a visit to the arcades and a well-earned scoop of gelato from Pinks Parlour or Sweet Flamingos.

You could also hop on the Promenade Train, then spend time building sandcastles on the beach. Just be sure to check the tide times before you go. Round it off with fish and chips enjoyed right on the pebbles.

There are so many ways to enjoy the coastline, so you can shape the day in whatever way suits your family best.

Love wildlife?

If you enjoy spotting wildlife, Hotham Park is a firm favourite. It is the perfect place to watch squirrels darting between the trees while you relax with a picnic or pick up something tasty from Hotham Park Café.

Just a short journey away, Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve offers the chance to fully immerse yourself in nature. Alongside incredible birdlife, there are also activities to get involved in, including Mudlarks and Crafts sessions during half term.

Arundel Wetland Centre is also well worth a visit. They regularly host themed trails, with the current one inspired by Julia Donaldson’s book Gozzle, running until 31st May 2026.

Something for everyone

Butlin’s continues to be a go-to for families, offering everything from the Splash waterworld and fairground rides to live shows and the Playxperience Activity Centre. While many visit for a full holiday, day passes make it just as enjoyable for a spontaneous treat closer to home.

A little further along, Aldingbourne Country Centre is a real hidden gem just off the A27, nestled at the foot of the South Downs. Here you can meet animals, enjoy freshly made food and explore a wide range of activities, all while supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.

For a full day out, Fishers Farm remains a favourite for generations. With farm animals, outdoor rides, indoor soft play and plenty of space to explore, it is a great option whatever the weather.

For the inquisitive

Half term is a chance to take a break, but it can also be a great opportunity to discover something new.

Bognor Regis Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the town’s history, with plenty to explore for curious minds. Nearby, you will also find:

Each offers a different experience, but all are well worth adding to your list.

And if you’re staying at home

Sometimes the best days are the ones spent at home.

Whether you are getting creative with supplies from The Resourceful Scrapstore or Unique Knit and Sew, or adding a few new reads to your collection from Heygates Bookshop, there are plenty of ways to keep everyone entertained without heading far.

Half term is what you make of it, and here in and around Bognor Regis, there is something to discover around every corner.
