Now that lockdown has been lifted slightly and we are able to dine outside at pubs and restaurants again, we thought we would take a look at one of the latest additions to Bognor Regis.
If you’re heading out for a catch up with friends on a sunny day and are thinking of somewhere new to try for lunch, then the recently opened Blakes Bar and Beach Terrace is definitely worth a visit.
Situated right on the beach in Felpham village, Blakes offers visitors the chance to take in the stunning sea views, while enjoying a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks which are served directly to your table.
The name Blakes is another nod to Felpham’s most famous resident – William Blake, who, it is thought wrote about England’s green and pleasant land while living in his Grade II listed cottage, which is only a stone’s throw away.
As a new addition to the existing Beachcroft Hotel, the attractive beach terrace welcomes locals and holiday makers, as well as hotel guests. On a sunny day (and there are lots of them in Bognor Regis), the gorgeous beach and the changing colours of the sea are a wonder to behold as you relax and enjoy a spot of alfresco dining.
The great thing about Blakes, in addition to the unobscured sea views, is that it’s all so clean and new, which is what makes the experience extra nice. Visitors can also have the chance to enjoy something special by booking the private outdoor dining pod, which caters for up to four guests.
Food on the menu currently includes a selection of freshly made sandwiches, light lunches, traditional English afternoon tea and range of hot and cold drinks.
While the menu isn’t extensive, plans are underway to expand it as the summer draws nearer.
Cocktails on the beach sound good? It’s all in the offing.
When the weather is wonderful, take a stroll along the promenade to Blakes Bar and Terrace and enjoy a warm welcome, as you take in the stunning Bognor Regis coastline. It is certainly a smart addition to the bars and restaurants we already have to enjoy here.
