Christmas 2020 in Bognor Regis

It’s that time of year again when most people get into a lovely festive mood and make the most of the wonderful run up to Christmas.

It’s true to say that 2020 has been somewhat different all round, but it hasn’t stopped local businesses and communities from adapting to the restrictions that surround the Coronavirus pandemic, to make the most of the situation and bring some much needed cheer to people’s lives.

Christmas 2020 in Bognor Regis

While things are certainly not the same as they normally are this year, there are still plenty of things to do in West Sussex in December. So what is going on in Bognor Regis and the surrounding areas this Christmas?

The Bognor Regis BID is making Christmas extra special in the town as the streets start to shimmer with some stunning lighting installations and businesses organise an array of delightful festive window displays.

The Christmas lights installations will light up Bognor Regis from Saturday November 28 and last all the way through to January 5.

There will also be a very special visitor to the Town! Clarence, the playful Bognor Regis Christmas Elf, who’ll be out and about in the town centre during the day throughout the Christmas period, visiting his favourite shops and businesses!  You can find his hut opposite The Arcade. There’s even free parking in the town for shoppers at the Fitzleet multi storey car park on the first three Saturdays in December.

So much fun to be had!

While social distancing and safety is key, favourite Christmas destinations in the area, such as Butlins in Bognor Regis, have found a way to make their usual festive events work, while keeping families safe at the same time.

The popular holiday venue is putting on a variety of breaks and live Christmas shows, offering fun for all ages. The Christmas pantomime is on – this year it’s The Little Mermaid – and there’s also a chance to see Father Christmas, or enjoy the Electric Circus, Fairground and Splash Waterworld.

At Fishers Farm Park near Billingshurst, the Magic of Christmas promises plenty of fun and laughter too, including a magical Christmas show and toy store set in the heart of their Winter Wonderland.

Magnificent Christmas lights displays

Light Up Trails has been given the go ahead to host a unique, mile-long, Christmas light trail after dark in the grounds of the historic Wiston House in the heart of the South Downs National Park.

Inspired by the theme ‘Hope’, the work of international artists casts the landscape in a new light, illuminating the gardens and parkland.

The large-scale sound and light installations and projections will be shown from December 8, 2020 – January 3, 2021 with time slots every 15 minutes between 4pm and 8:15pm. Visitors can enjoy the wonderful Garden of Hope, Shimmer Tree, the illuminated Rainbow in the Dark and an enchanted forest.

Have a wonderful 2020 Christmas in Bognor Regis!

As you can see, we love Christmas here in Bognor Regis! And, while things are certainly not the same as usual and a lot more consideration has to be given to extra safety this year, there’s absolutely no reason why visitors to the area can’t come and enjoy our beautiful seaside town, as they get a good dose of seaside air and seasonal cheer!

Merry Christmas from all of us at Love Bognor Regis!
