The Assembly Room, Bognor Regis turns comedy club for a Saturday night!

The weather’s cold, the nights are long – what more of an excuse do you need to go grab yourself a whole belly full of laughs at a fantastic comedy show in Bognor Regis?

That’s what we were up to last Saturday, when comedy acts from all over the south coast came to entertain guests at The Assembly Room on Linden Road.

For only £20 per ticket, we wandered into town and spent the evening laughing our heads off at the amazing acts – not to mention making the most of their delicious all you can eat pizza and salad buffet.

The line up last Saturday (January 26) was as follows:

  • Patrick Casey
  • Bob Matthews
  • Lucy Bee
  • Simon Dooley
  • Tiz White
  • Johnny Wardlow
  • Graeme Collard
  • Martin Potts

Highlights for us were when Lucy Bee sang a fantastic song all about cheese and Patrick Casey entertained us with tales about how he has moved from Bognor Regis to Selsey. But, to be honest, it was all top notch!

We truly felt we might as well be sitting in Jongleurs or Komedia – the standard really was very, very good! As such it wasn’t a surprise to see comments such as ‘Quality night!!’ and ‘Great night, well done,’ adorning their Facebook page this week.

You might be pleased to know that the comedy night will be back on Saturday 23rd February with a new line up, including superb South Coast Comedian of the Year 2017, ‘The Portsmouth gag machine,’ Paul Cox.

There’s also the darling of the Brighton Fringe, Fran Kissling, who, with her truly unique Swiss stand up show, prompted Comedy Blogger, Stella Wright to gush: “To say that Fran Kissling’s stand up is unique would be like saying the Pope is a tiny bit catholic!”

Awards that Fran herself has picked up include the following:

Semifinalist – So You Think You’re Funny 2018

Semifinalist – Max Turner Prize 2019

Finalist – Comedy Launchpad 2019

Winner – Quantum Leopard Comedy Competition 2018

And then there’s performances from award winning professional comic Matt Roseblade, Riggs and Glenn West to enjoy too.

It’s a night which promises BUCKET LOADS of laughs, so be sure to make a note of it in your diary!

Tickets go on sale from this Thursday (January 31) at The Assembly Room – but hurry, because they get snapped up quickly – last time they sold out in three days!

There is all you can eat pizza all night again with an amazing selection of gins. Doors open at 6.30pm with the show starting at 8pm… see you there!
