What’s happening in Bognor Regis for Christmas 2021?

While the events of the last couple of years have been very different, to say the least, there’s one thing for sure and that’s that the spirit of Christmas is most definitely in the air in and around Bognor Regis.

Ice skating on the prom!

It had to miss a year last year, thanks to COVID19, but the organisers of the Ice Skating on the Prom have managed to pull this massively popular event out of the bag for this Christmas and it claims to be BIGGER and BETTER than ever before!

With all safety measures taken into account, the ice rink, which has been constructed in The Regis Centre car park, measures in at 30 x 20 metres. It means the whole family can enjoy a traditional style of ice skating in Bognor Regis, in a style reminiscent of many beloved festive movies.

If ice skating doesn’t float your boat, then you can also take in the Christmas huts, German-style swing grill, bar, children’s rides, games and much more that there is to enjoy there. Tickets are available on arrival but visitors are advised to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

All your festive favourites

Saturday 27th November saw the Bognor Regis Christmas lights switch on and the start of that festive favourite – Late Night Christmas Shopping.

It also marked the start of another popular event – the Salvation Army Band playing carols on London Road (near Boots). The band will continue to entertain the crowds every Saturday leading up to Christmas between 10am and 12pm, as well as on Christmas Eve.

If you love a good pantomime to kick off the festive season, then go and check out Jack and the Beanstalk at The Regis Centre. The pantomime runs from Wednesday 8th December until Sunday 2nd January.

Or, if socialising is your thing, plenty of pubs around the town, such as the William Hardwicke, Tao and The Claremont are getting into the festive spirit by holding their very own Christmas parties – some of which are suitable for the whole family.

Other Christmassy events to get involved in include the following:

Pop Up Craft Cabin Christmas Market

The Track Bognor Regis

Saturday 4th December 10am-4pm

Free Wreath Making Activity

The Track Bognor Regis

Saturday 11th December 10am

Christmas Gin Fair

The Dog & Duck, High Street

Thursday 23rd December 4pm until 9pm

Spot Santa in Bognor Regis

Father Christmas will be at the local community charity, Grandad’s Front Room, every day between December 18-24 and he will be giving a free gift or selection box to every child. Last year the charity gave away around 900 gifts, thanks to the kindness of the local community, Bognor Regis Town Council, Butlins and Tesco.

Father Christmas will also be doing the rounds of Bognor Regis again this year in his sleigh float – with some able assistance from the The Rotary Club of Bognor Hotham. Families can have the opportunity to see him and wave to him from their doorstep while the Rotary Club collects money for charity. All routes start at different times throughout December.

It’s fair to say that we certainly deserve a Christmas to remember this year, so on behalf of us all at LBR – have a very merry Bognor Regis Christmas!
