‘Picasso, his life and loves’ by Cancion Gitana

Acclaimed International Flamenco company Cancion Gitana will present a Special Charity performance in memory of Sasha Levtov with proceeds going to establish a Guitar Bursary fund in his name at the Regis School of Music and the West Sussex Guitar Club to which he and Nina devoted so much time, effort and energy. On Saturday May 30th at 7.30pm (doors at 7pm), in association with West Sussex Guitar Club, Cancion Gitana will present Picasso, his life and loves  a 90 minute Flamenco biography of Picasso. Flamenco Dance company Cancion Gitana have created a unique biography of the long and extraordinary life of this remarkable artist, a story told in dance, guitar, song, poetry, film and, of course, many, many, images. Picasso, his life and loves was created and choreographed by the highly respected Flamenco dancer Helena “La Leyenda” (Sadlers Wells, BBC TV, Channel 4, ITV ). The ninety minute, two act spectacular features an international company comprised of  Principal dancer Helena, dancers Nancy and Clara, recorded poetry performed by Lorca specialist Madrid’s Rosario Serrano  (Ballet Rambert, Duende Flamenco Company, BBC2 TV ),  the ethereal voice of legendary cante jondo singer Fernando Reyes and the passionate Flamenco guitar of Tomas de Cordoba.
