Sew Resourceful – Basic Hand Sewing Skills

We’ll share basic hand sewing skills and help you to build confidence to tackle minor repairs and small hand sewing tasks. You’ll also use Scrapstore resources and your new found abilities to create your own sewing kit and leave with a handy guide to basic sewing and mending skills. Worried you aren’t good enough at sewing? Don’t be! That is the whole point of these sessions – it’s aimed at complete beginners and we will help you every step of the way, with no judgement. We will split the day into two sessions with a 30 minute break in between – please bring your own lunch! (There will be hot drinks and biscuits available.) We will not be using a sewing machine in these sessions – please see our other workshops in this series if that’s a skill you want to develop. Thanks to funding from the West Sussex Waste Prevention Community Fund Grant, we are able to offer these sessions entirely free of charge.
